Applying the Nail Polish Perfectly

Applying nail polish may sound very simple and easy to anyone but it is an art that can makes all the difference in your appearance. If done well, spending just a few minute on it can easily make your hands and feet look outstandingly beautiful and give a boost to your personality.

Removing the traces of old polish - to help you get an evenly spread affect, it is important to remove all the traces of old polish. This should be done using a cotton roll and a good-quality nail polish remover or plain and simple acetone. Dab the cotton ball with the remover and keep it over the nail for some time and then rub it gently to remove all residues. However, do not use the remover too often, since it has a drying affect on the nail which may harm it.

Removing the cuticles- this is essential for proper growth of the nails. Invest in a good-quality cuticle remover and a cuticle stick to push them behind. Do not apply force while using the remover.

Shaping the nails - any good nail polish would stand out on the nails that have been shaped well. To do this, you must use a good-quality file or an emery board. Maintain one direction for filing the nails and you do it going from corners towards the center. Keep your nails long only if you have the time to maintain them, otherwise short and well shaped nails are equally good for enhancing the affect of any polish.

Cleaning your hands - before applying any nail polish, you must clean your hands well to remove all the dust as well as traces of the old nail polish.

Applying the polish- selected color of your choice and apply strokes from base towards the top. Wipe out any additional traces of nail polish and wait at it to get dry before applying the second coat. Finish off with a transparent polish as the top coat.
